Alabama Prison Arts & Education

Educational System in Detention Centres

First, education is a solution for every single tiny problem in the world, no matter what the issue is! From a small iPhone's camera not functioning to complex army related items like weapons and the incredible vehicles zooming all around the military base like these cool jets, missiles and tanks.

In my opinion, I think education in prisons is such a convenient way to recuperate ones' comportment. In prisons there are many inmates that have gone wrong throughout their lives, thats why they ended there in the first place. Some severe crimes committed by criminals can be easily removed from their performance by finding another hobby instead of these felonies.

Education is an obligation in ones' life! If some people in jail were uneducated and committed crimes, it would be manly because they did not know their rights from their wrongs. Although many educated prisoners are well educated but still decide to do bad things, maybe they were reflecting the actions they had seen all around them. For example, Talaat Mostafa is a great example of a very well educated man, but still ended up sentenced 15 years in jail. Talaat Mostafa was a really successful business man, he owns the two almost biggest compounds in Egypt, Rehab and Madinaty. He was sent to jail because he had murdered a woman even though he was really well educated.

I think that in prisons they should have more subjects taught to inmates, for example, they should add science, math, art, or even a second language like French, Spanish or German. These trainings will help prepare the prisoner to the wide open world. Hopefully, when the hostages are released, they will have a bright future and put the work they studied in prison into consideration and be able to provide for themselves. But unfortunately, this program is only available for a few lucky prisoner. In my opinion, this is so un fair to the rest 1500 inmates, what did this prisoner do better than the other, quite actually the opposite. I think that the government should invest the country's money in ameliorating the prisons' conditions and equalizing each convict. Once the education portion in a prison is focused on, the country's crime rate will decrease.

In conclusion, I think that education is a great way to rehabilitate the convicts into finding different tasks to occupy their time with instead of doing what they do to get to prison. Hopefully, every prison take education seriously and add it to their daily schedules to have a safe environment free of crimes! Good luck to each and every inmate and I hope you do your best to become a better person and learn from your mistakes!
